ZIMBABWE – A woman left the gallery shocked when she told a Harare magistrate last week that her former husband removed his trousers in front of her new in-laws and showed them his manhood, claiming she infected him with a sexually transmitted disease.
Evidence Muvirimi claimed Rogers Masukwedza visits her house and insults her in front of her new husband.
Muvirimi made the allegations at the Harare Civil Court where she was seeking a protection order against Masukwedza.
“He visits my place of residence and embarrasses me by calling me a prostitute in front of my new husband,” she said. “If my husband tries to calm him down he turns on him and starts insulting him using obscene language, saying he married a prostitute.”
Muvirimi said Masukwedza once visited her in-laws’ residence where he removed his trousers and showed them his manhood, while claiming that she infected him with an STI.
“This man is very violent over nothing,” she said. “I think his major aim is to ruin my new marriage .”
Muvirimi said Masukwedza was not paying maintenance for their minor child. Masukwedza did not show up at the court.
Magistrate Ms Gamuchirai Siwardi granted the protection order which bars Masukwedza from verbally abusing Muvirimi and visiting her place of residence.
